Free, breath-hold or Apnoea diving is a fascinating thing to do, and if you think it is similar to diving you thought wrong the only thing which we share with free divers is the same environment the rest including swimming techniques is completely different. So why should we as scuba divers know how to deal with it. Good question right? If you find yourself in the unlikely event with your scuba gear failing at the surface on your own you should know how to get back without any scuba gear and also it is fun for your students and gives them better airway control.
In this chapter we want to talk about the physiological risks of breath hold diving.
