If you love teaching but want to gain more experience before taking the full responsibility as a PADI Scuba Instructor, then this course is perfect for you. The Assistant Instructor course is part of the IDC (Instructor Development Course). As an PADI Assistant instructor you can assist Dive Instructors on courses and you are allowed to teach some courses independently. It is a great way to gain experience in teaching. Not only does it give you knowledge about teaching, you will also learn how to use the PADI System of diver education, and create Knowledge Development, Confined and Open water presentations.
In this minimum 4-day Course, you will learn how to teach and assist on all PADI core courses. While concentrating on developing your teaching skills, you will further develop your abilities to organize and supervise scuba diving activities. The PADI Assistant Instructor Curriculum includes:
PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach, with in-water workshops
Learning, Instruction and the PADI System
Risk Management and Diver Safety
The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor
Marketing Diving and Sales Counseling
Teaching and presenting in the classroom
Teaching in confined water (Pool)
Teaching in Open Water
Besides various pool sessions to fine-tune your diving skills, your course will take you to some of Bali’s great dive sites as we dive on different dive locations every day. As Bali’s dive sites are so diverse, you will get to enjoy a wide range of marine life!
Minimum age: 18 years old
Certification: PADI Divemaster
Be certified as a diver for at least six months
Have logged 60 dives that include experience in night, deep and navigation
Completed CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months
Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within the past 12 months
Documentation of qualifying certifications for entry level, advanced, rescue and leadership level.
